Luci Marshall – FOUNDER & Director

2018 PR Personality of the Year, Best in Beauty Awards

With 20 years in PR and Creative Advertising that spans both agency and in-house, and with several coveted awards under her belt, Luci has the skills and know-how to help your brand shine.

Famed for her personal approach and connections that span across both traditional media and influencers, she delivers your stories, products and key messages to the right people with a strong call-to-action.

Having worked on a variety of clients in the consumer lifestyle segment, Luci has extensive experience leading PR strategy and implementation within both the premium and FMCG sectors. Brands she has lived and breathed include Dermalogica, Pantene Europe, Pernod Ricard (wines & spirits), Unilever (personal care, ice cream and beauty), Ferrero Rocher, Electrolux, The French Cafe and adidas.

Campaigns have included media relations (PRINZ award 2013), influencer outreach, product launches, events, activations (Gold Caanz 2012, 2009, Silver Caanz 2012) and sampling.

Luci is mum to Taylor (6) and Enzo (4) and wife to Craig. She strives for work/life balance, juggling family and work with exercise, eating well and socialising over a cocktail (or two).

Fun Fact: Luci is a certified NZ Alpine Ski Instructor, having skied and instructed around the world.

JESS CAREW – SENIOR ACCOUNT DIRECTOR

2016 PR Personality of the Year, Best in Beauty Awards

Jess has over 13 years’ PR experience and specialises in home fragrance and skincare. Jess joined Rise & Shine PR after five years as Communication Manager with Estee Lauder Companies, managing Estee Lauder, Clinique, La Mer,
Bobbi Brown and Jo Malone London.

Not only does Jess have extensive in-house and agency PR experience in New Zealand, but also spent six years across the ditch in Sydney where she worked on international beauty and lifestyle brands.

Luci and Jess first met at PR agency Spark Activate back in 2007, where they worked together managing consumer activations, events and media relations for Unilever brands including Magnum, Rexona and Dove, amongst others.

Jess has two boys, Rocco and Max, and when she isn’t chasing after them she enjoys reformer Pilates and yoga classes. Passionate about design, she loves finding inspiration and decorating her new home in Riverhead.

Fun Fact: At age 18, Jess worked as a nanny in LA and spent time with musicians including Sting and Jill Scott backstage whilst they were on tour.

SAM CORTES – ACCOUNT MANAGER

Sam joins Rise & Shine PR after previously interning with us as well as with other PR agencies while she studied. Most recently Sam worked as a Zone Manager and Skin Specialist for MECCA where she developed an even stronger passion for customer service, skincare and makeup.

With a can-do attitude and a Bachelor of Communications Degree majoring in Public Relations and Market Insights, Sam will ensure your brand is the leading light amongst your competitors.

With her friends and family she loves to work out, explore New Zealand beaches and bake the odd cake. Did we mention travel? Over the last two years Sam has saved up and gone on adventures in the UK, Europe and Asia.

FUN FACT

Sam absolutely loves animals! She owns three rescue dogs and plans to save more.
