Empowering female business owners to take their businesses to the next level with EmpowHER

Rise & Shine conceived the idea for the EmpowHER scholarship program and helped facilitate the initiative from concept development through to implementation on behalf of our client, Two Hundred Doors – the NZ distributors of Dermalogica for 30 years.

Launched on International Woman’s Day 2023, the winner is currently undergoing her mentoring programme and Icehouse ‘Taking Your Business Forward’ Course, with plans to run it again in 2024 underway.

Collectively, Saben, Dermalogica, The Icehouse and R&SPR have worked together to develop and activate the campaign that has seen five women founders granted a hand-up in their business, including the winner Anna Barlow of Mom Store.

As well as project managing the 6-month long campaign, RSPR helped bring all of the pieces together across strategy, partnerships, paid media partnership with FQ, media pitching, PR and social content calendar.

Year one results:

-          Reach of 693,160 through the earned PR campaign

-          Over 52 eligible entries received via FQ.co.nz

The EmpowHER scholarship has been an incredible opportunity for me. The support & expertise from both Dermalogica & Saben as well as their teams of experts has been invaluable. I am only a couple of months in to my mentoring sessions, but have already learnt so much and been inspired to continue working on both our existing offering as a business, as well as working on our own product ranges. Getting this industry specific insight has been a game changer for my small business and has motivated us to continue growing & changing in what is currently a really tough economic climate. The Icehouse business course has also been really great for me. I have no formal business training and this hands-on course has been really relevant to the growth phase our business is currently in.

We are already working on the 2024 campaign, which will incorporate our key learnings and have even more opportunities for up-and-coming female founded businesses…
